FameBid

Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 20, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how FameBid (“we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use famebid.app and related services (the “Service”).

The English version of this Privacy Policy is the controlling language. Translations are provided for convenience only.

Terms of Service

1. Scope

This Policy applies to accounts, bidding, leaderboards, Challenges, Creator Circle, Fame Pages, analytics we show creators, and support communications. It does not cover third-party sites you link to from a Fame Page or social profile, or the independent privacy practices of Lemon Squeezy, OAuth providers, or hosting vendors.

2. Information we collect

Account and identity. Email address, name or display name, authentication provider identifiers, password hashes (if you use email/password), two-factor settings for privileged accounts, and role flags (for example admin).

Profile and public content. Handles, platform URLs, avatar URLs, bio text, Fame Page links, callouts, Challenge and referral metadata you choose to create, and bid totals / ranks derived from payments.

Payments. We receive payment status, amounts (in cents), timestamps, provider checkout/order identifiers, and fulfillment outcomes from our payment processor. Card numbers are handled by the processor — we do not store full card PAN data on FameBid servers.

Usage and product analytics. Leaderboard clicks through our redirect endpoints store profile id, timestamp, and the referrer host only — not IP address, user agent, or user id. Fame Page analytics events are stored without IP or other direct PII of visitors.

Technical logs. Our hosting, database, and auth infrastructure may process standard connection metadata necessary to operate and secure the Service (for example to prevent abuse). We design product event tables to avoid storing visitor IP where described above.

Communications. Messages you send to support, and emails we send about account security, payments, or product notices.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve the Service (accounts, boards, checkout, webhooks, Hall of Fame)
  • Verify ownership and eligibility for Challenges, referrals, and admin access
  • Process payments, prevent fraud, handle refunds/chargebacks, and keep ranking ledgers accurate
  • Show public rankings, profiles, badges, share cards, and activity feeds you participate in
  • Provide creators with Fame Page metrics that exclude their own visits where implemented
  • Communicate about security, billing, and material Service changes
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms of Service

5. How we share information

Public by design. Bid amounts, ranks, display names, avatars, callouts, Hall of Fame results, and public Fame Page content are visible to anyone.

Processors. We use vendors to host the app and database, authenticate users (including social OAuth), and process payments (Lemon Squeezy). They process data on our instructions to provide those services.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of rankings.

Business transfers. If we undergo a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction under continued confidentiality expectations.

We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood for advertising data brokers.

6. Retention

We retain account, profile, payment, and ranking records for as long as needed to operate the boards, meet accounting and dispute needs, and comply with law. Click and Fame Page event aggregates may be retained to power product metrics. If you request deletion, we will delete or anonymize personal data we control except where we must keep it (for example completed payment records, fraud prevention, or legal holds).

7. Security

We use industry-standard measures appropriate to a web product of this type, including encrypted transport (HTTPS), access-controlled admin roles, server-side authorization on Convex functions, and verified payment webhooks. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to / restrict certain processing. You can update much of your profile in the dashboard. For other requests, email the contact below.

You may close your account by contacting us; public historical board artifacts may remain in anonymized or minimized form where needed for leaderboard integrity.

OAuth providers and Lemon Squeezy have their own settings and policies for data they control.

9. Children

FameBid is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

10. International transfers

We may process information in countries other than your own, including where our hosting, database, auth, or payment providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

11. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies as needed for authentication sessions, locale preference, and essential site operation. We do not run third-party advertising trackers as part of the core FameBid product described in our documentation.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will revise the “Last updated” date on this page. Continued use of the Service after an update means you acknowledge the revised Policy.
